It is with great difficulty we have made the decision to rehome our wonderful draft mare Princess Buttercup. She came to us as a client’s embryo transfer recipient mare and we immediately fell in love. She was bought out of the ET program in 2011 and Jenni trained her under saddle for the purpose of ponying the young horses in our raising program (A job she loves and excels at!). As we have downsized drastically on our breeding we have our own mares that will remain open that can fulfill our need for pony horses.
Princess Buttercup (PBC) is available to a wonderful home. She is a strong mare that can carry a man or heavier rider but has also been ridden by children. She tries hard and is a willing partner under saddle. Still a bit green in the arena she is probably not appropriate for a total beginner. A wonderful mother and a fun trail horse, this 17.1h+ 2800 pound palomino draft mare is worth her weight in gold. We are in no hurry to rehome her and the right match is our top priority. We would like to start putting the word out for this very special girl as we will be downsizing to our home farm by the spring of 2014 and we hope to place her in the right situation by then.
Based on her teeth it is guessed that she is around 10-12 years old. Her history prior to 2009 and her parentage is unknown. She comes with all the oversized tack we have bought for her (blanket, leather halter with nameplate and her bit and bridle.). She is up to date on all vaccines, teeth floats, trims and coggins, she has had superior care with us and we expect the same of a new home. She’s a kind mare and true gentle giant. Sound, healthy and blemish free she would love to find someone that will dote on her, enjoy her and love her as much as we have these last few years. We would consider a trial period, lease to buy or other creative arrangement to the right home. If sold, she sells on a contract giving us the right of first option to buy her back should she not work out for any reason $2,900
